Our Story

Bella Notte Linens is luxury bedding for real life. Our heirloom quality linens are small batch cut, sewn and dyed-to-order locally with the same partners we’ve worked with for decades. Each couture piece is anything but basic in design, yet is washable at home, part of founder Kathleen McCoy’s vision for easy-care and ‘slow luxury’ that began in 1996.

Our Promise

We believe in bedding that is easy to care for and easy to live in. From design to manufacturing, we’re committed to creating the highest quality linens with the lowest impact that can be passed down from generation to generation.

Couture Design

Romantic, eclectic, bohemian

We believe in the artistic expression of your romantic, eclectic and bohemian self at home—and the careful curation of your timeless sanctuary. By layering collections and color, your unique selection is customizable to your space. Each couture item—featuring clean mitered edges and piping, or pintucking, ruffles and lace—can be garment dyed in any of our colors, allowing varied combinations of fabrics to emerge in the same harmonic tone. The results are unbelievably soft, preshrunk linens in a range of hues befitting your home.

Heirloom Quality

Linens that last a lifetime

Quality goes beyond timeless design. Seeking out the most luxurious materials from all over the world, we believe in sourcing natural and responsible fibers that will be least harmful to our planet and our bodies over the course of our lifetimes. This is why we also refrain from using harsh dyes or fabrics with chemical finishes. We make discoveries everyday about the best materials to spend a lifetime in—that can be passed down generation to generation. We promise to keep you updated on our journey of tracking our fibers, from mill to factory to home.

Slow Luxury

Small-batch manufacturing

With a commitment to “slow luxury" and small batch production, we continue to partner with the same San Francisco Bay Area makers we've worked with for over 20 years. These relationships and sustainable values have been core to our brand since our founding in 1996. We manufacture with efficient design, minimal waste and materials reuse, and our dyes are low-impact and hand-mixed. The care and intention dedicated in production ensures that each Bella Notte piece will bring uncompromising luxury into your home.

Easy Living

Luxury you can wash at home

Early on, we discovered that pre-washing our couture linens gave them a delightful lived-in feel. To this day, every product we offer is washable at home (that’s right - even silks and velvets). While we encourage gentle care, we love the surprise that our couture textiles can be cared for at home...and withstand all the other things that happen there. From everyday comfort to a beautiful night’s sleep, Bella Notte believes in easy living.

A note about

Our Future

When Kathleen invited us—her daughter, Taylor Batlin, and niece, Lauren Hill—to join her as partners in 2018, we were thrilled to have the opportunity to help lead our company into the next generation, operating on the leading edge of artistic home decor and remaining dedicated to family, environment and community. As we continue to perfect our vision of “slow luxury", we’ll honor the traditions started by Kathleen as the first couture, easy-care linens brand. With each design, we aim to inspire the artistic expression of our customers’ romantic, eclectic and bohemian selves at home, offering pieces they’ll collect, layer and love for a lifetime.

We are proud—and inspired—to carry Bella Notte Linens forward, preserving a passion for beautiful, and consciously made bedding.
