In 1996, fashion-turned-bedding designer, Kathleen McCoy, began experimenting with excess rolls of silk and linen to create luxury home textiles for real life with her young children. The result: the first couture bedding for everyday living.
While Kathleen continues to be the guiding visionary behind our beloved home brand, Bella Notte Linens is a family endeavor. When she invited me—her daughter, Taylor—to join her as a partner in 2018, I was thrilled to help lead the company into the next generation.
Honoring Kathleen’s deeply held commitment to her family, employees and community, we continue to small batch manufacture and dye to order with the same San Francisco Bay Area makers she’s worked with since the very beginning.
As we evolve, we are continuing to ask ourselves how we can be a more sustainable and ethical company in the 21st century. From deepening our partnerships with our vendors and supporting our employees with a bilingual language program, to donating to California fire victims, community organizations and local design schools, and achieving zero waste in production—we look forward to keeping you up to date on our journey.
We are the Bella Notte family—creating consciously made home textiles you’ll collect, layer and love for years to come.
