Loving Touch: Caring for Your Linens

Linens are not just fabric, they are pieces of life woven into the story of home. The cozy blanket used to curl up on the couch during a rainy day, soft sheets straight from the dryer, a plush duvet cover providing comfort for a night of rest, all handled with care; like a secret family recipe, passed down, used often, and loved deeply.

At Bella Notte Linens, we believe your linens should be treated with care and tender attention. After all, these are the pieces that envelop you in comfort and create quiet beauty in your home.

Here is how we recommend caring for your Bella Notte Linens with a loving touch.

Treat Stains with Patience

There is no need to panic over life’s little spills. The key is addressing stains quickly, with the right tools, and a little grace.

  • Pre-treat stains by applying a small amount of Common Good Detergent to the stain, and let sit for 30 minutes prior to washing

  • Use cool water and gently blot, never rub

Wash with Intention

Like any cherished item, Bella Notte Linens deserve a little extra attention in the wash

  • Separate linens by color / fabric

  • Close buttons, ties, and zippers when applicable

  • Place delicates, including products with lace and Linen Whisper, in a garment bag

  • Machine wash cold in small loads on the gentle cycle

  • Avoid bleach and brighteners, they can alter color and break down textile fibers

This isn't just about care, it's about ritual. A pause in the day. A moment of mindfulness.

Dry with Natural Air

Remember the line-dried linens of your childhood? Fresh air naturally lifts and refreshes fabric.

  • Line dry whenever possible in a shaded space

  • If line drying is not possible, tumble dry on low heat and remove promptly to avoid deep wrinkles (Mom always knows the timing magic)

  • Dewrinkle process:

    •  Dry on low heat for 10 minutes and remove promptly

  • Some of Bella Notte Products can be ironed and/or steamed - see here for more details about which Bella Notte fabrics can be ironed or steamed

  • For pieces with deeper creases, which can be common in our plush fabrics such as Silk Velvet or Silk Velvet Quilted, the best solution is to wash and dry according to our care instructions above.

Store with Love

Folding linens beautifully is a small act of care that goes a long way.

  • Store linens in a cool, dry place

  • Use cotton bags for storage to let the fabric breathe

Special Products - Inserts

For best results, professionally launder your down duvet and pillow inserts according to the instructions on the label.

Tips and Tricks for Longevity of Bella Notte Linens

  • Never use bleach or detergents with whiteners or brighteners because they will break down the fibers and/or damage the product

  • Avoid standard stain removers, face care products with bleaching effects, and water softener laundry products

  • Do not dry clean or professionally press

  • Refrain from overdrying or using high heat

  • Wash linens by themselves in small loads — zippers and buttons on other clothes can snag on the linens and ruin the fabric

  • Avoid direct sunlight to minimize fabric fading

  • Use top-loading washing machines that do not have an agitator

Let Beauty Age Gracefully

Embrace the natural patina of well-loved linens. Over time, their softness deepens, their color evolves, and their beauty grows, just like all things made with love. Every Bella Notte piece carries memories, stories and quiet moments of joy to last a lifetime.
